Let’s get real about AI.
1. It will absolutely take many jobs.
2. It will create some jobs. Probably fewer added than taken away.
3. It has already begun.
4. Net/Net AI will make future AWESOME (if we avoid Skynet and Orwell scenarios).
5. There will be losers. Status and income will vanish for prestigious roles.
6. Radical advances can happen RAPIDLY including drug discovery, gene therapies, brain-computer interfaces, personalized medical diagnostics and treatment regimen management, bespoke education….
7. EMBRACE IT. It’s happening with or without you. Prepare to be valuable in tomorrow’s economy… or be one of a handful of horse & buggy drivers left in New York City.
Reminder: If AI is an effective productivity booster….
Productivity x hours worked = GDP.
GDP will need to grow AS FAST as AI-enhanced productivity to keep employment even flat.
Either GDP is about to skyrocket…
Or the employment market will get tougher.
