Three key concepts:
1. There’s nothing special about “human level” intelligence. The scale goes MUCH higher. Chicken, dog, chimp, dumb human, smart human, and the steps keep going.
2. Progress is accelerating. You won’t recognize “human level” AI when it arrives… Because it will be MUCH SMARTER by the time you notice.
3. We struggle to understand exponential growth. Between stronger models, faster chips, and computational shortcuts… Our linear, incremental minds are not capable of conceptualizing 1,000x or 1,000,000x acceleration.
NONE OF THIS requires belief in sentience or consciousness. Only capabilities.
