RIP Scott Adams.
Scott influenced me since college. Dilbert was the best comic in the school newspaper.
The Dilbert Principle was a more practical business book than the ones trying to be serious. (Plus a lot more funny.)
Loserthink and Reframe Your Brain are excellent mind-sharpening books I still recommend to everyone.
I had personal breakthroughs from reading “How to Fail at Everything and Still Win Big”. The two concepts of Talent Stacks and Systems Over Goals changed my life.
Scott lost a lot of fans when he went “out of his lane” and commented on politics. However, his book “Win Bigly” is a great primer on persuasion. It details practical and super-effective methods (that look like madness). It’s a great read no matter how you vote.
I enjoyed his other books, too.
A few times per month I shared a “simultaneous sip” along with his daily one-hour show (podcast?) that he delivered 365 days a year, beating even Waffle House for reliability.
He kept up the daily broadcast schedule throughout his battle with cancer. His final show was just hours before his passing.
Resist the urge to cancel imperfect mentors.
I didn’t agree with Scott on everything… But he shaped my thinking and my career for the better.
I aspire to be as useful as Scott Adams.
And I never want to be a Pointy Haired Boss.
(That is not why I shaved my head.)
